ARROWMAMMETT WORKS MIDDLETOWN "B" Imprint. This was the
trade name of the Baldwin Tool Company started by Austin Baldwin in
1841 in Middletown CT.

J.W. GIBBS NEW YORK "B" Imprint. It is said that imitation is the
sicerest form of flattery. The similarities here indicate that Mr. Gibbs
may have been imitating his former employer & Teacher, Enos Baldwin.

Top View of J.W.Gibbs Plow plane. Compare to the style of A&E Baldwin
Plow. The hardware, the wedge profile & especially the fence profile
are very similar.
